Edward Bernays, the creator of modern advertising inherited the understaning of the human psyche from Sigmund Freud.

Edward Bernays was the double nephew of Sigmund Freud. Bernays spent time with his uncle and learned about how the human mind worked. 

Bernays used that knowledge to help the U.S. Army and after the war, he used the skills he perfected to help corporations.

Bernays is the reason why you eat cereal, bacon, or eggs for breakfast.

Bernays is the reason why women smoking Virginia Slims happened and opened up a whole new market for tobacco products.

So, the greatest advertising opportunity in America came from the architect of Behavioral Economics.
