Black Panther director Ryan Coogler broke the internet a few months ago with his groundbreaking horror film Sinners. The concept of the film was not the only hot topic, but the fact that Coogler received a seldom heard of share of the gross receipts AND the intellectual property rights (IP) will revert back to his sole ownership after a defined time period.
Well, Tyler Perry broke the internet all over again when he revealed that he called Coogler, out of the blue, and unsolicited, to inform Coogler how to negotiate this unlikely deal.
