Monk Says…Parking, what is it? (or, why Warren Buffet has $350 Bill set aside)

Parking Lot

This is not the parking lot that charges you to attend an event.

Or even a city that charges at a meter or you get a ticket for 20x’s what the meter fee was.

True story, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area & when I lived on Fell Street in The City I would get $600 a year in parking tickets.

No, I’m talking about investment instruments that lets you put your money someplace with little risk like Money Market accounts, savings accounts, Treasury bonds, art, collectibles, or insurance instruments.

Parking is having your money put aside while you wait for an investment opportunity to present itself.

Warren Buffet has $350Bill parked and waiting for an opportunity. He truly lives by his words of being scared when everyone is greedy and being greedy when everyone is scarred. Buffet is parked and waiting to pounce.

We spend 12 – 20 years in school learning about every subject, except for money. Then we spend the rest of our lives trying to figure out how to make money or how to grow the money we have.

My approach to financial literacy is to teach it in a way that makes the complexities of finance so simple that your investing actions become instinctive.

To the youth, young adults, and the mothers who raise them,
