Monk Says… Your 2 adversaries: Poverty & The Federal Reserve

Poverty is the adversary always on the prowl – like a roaring lion seeking whom it may devour.

Poverty is that unseen force that keeps you always on your grind afraid that standing still is like standing in quicksand, slowly sinking.

Poverty has been a foe you have been socialized to believe that you can only have 2 options:

1. Work at a machine level from a disconnected and exhausted place.

-or-

2. Make space for rest and space to connect with our higher selves, without fearing how you will eat and live.

The harsh reality of poverty and lack keeps us on a never-ending pace of hustling to survive.-Patricia Hersey

Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve picks winners and losers.

Don’t believe me?

When the economy gets too hot or too high, the Federal Reserve cools it down by tightening the money supply and slowing down wealth creation.

Which also chokes opportunity.

When Labor had too much bargaining power, the Federal Reserve put a stop to that by choking off opportunity.

When the economy is cooking and you’re starting to rise out of poverty, the Central Bank cools the economy in its fight to keep inflation in check.

Inflation is when too much money is in the hands of many, and prices rise as there is more money chasing fewer goods.
