Monk Says…Faith & The God Particle

Faith

Lately, Fawn Weaver has been making waves in the world of whiskey with her remarkable brand, Uncle Nearest. Her journey has taken me on an exploration of faith.

Amidst the buzz, some accusations about Uncle Nearest’s finances surfaced in the media. But it was Weaver’s response that truly caught my attention. In a powerful legal declaration, she insisted that the truth goes deeper than what’s been reported. But what really resonated with me was her inclusion of a profound biblical statement:

“The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.”
— Proverbs

Whoa!

In subsequent interviews, Weaver shared her insights on entrepreneurship, highlighting the tumultuous journey of a business owner. She summed it up perfectly: “Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.”

To me, that translates to one essential ingredient:
Faith.

As an entrepreneur, you have to believe (have faith) that your idea or creation will make a difference in the world, even when the proof is still out of sight.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of which is not seen.— Hebrews

Faith is that elusive ingredient that can’t quite be measured. In the realms of particle physics, scientists explore the universe but grapple with what’s often referred to as the “God Particle” – the mystery that underpins everything.

Take CERN, for example; they’ve attempted to recreate the Big Bang with their Large Hadron Collider. Fortunately for us, the world didn’t end as a result of their experiment!

Now, when it comes to investing,  you don’t necessarily need faith in the product itself. Past performance may not guarantee future results, but it certainly shows what’s possible.

Faith, however, plays a critical role when you’re betting on the potential for your returns. Especially when you’re venturing into the unknown or when times are tough.

It’s during market downturns that you can lay the groundwork for incredible returns on your investments. But only if you take that leap of Faith
